“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” - Proverbs 18:22 

Four years ago today, I stood in a church, next to a woman, and told a crowd of people that I would give my life to her.  Today I stop to give thanks again for the favor that the Lord has shown me.  

These have been the most joyous years of my life so far.  It hasn’t all been easy, but has been wonderful. God is daily expanding my ability to love, to serve, and to care for another person’s well being over my own.  I am a self-centered man, and this slow refining of my character is painful.  But, in His mercy, He has given me a bride so desirable that the pleasure far exceeds the pain.

There is no more appealing person on earth to me than her.  She is my helpmate, my complement, my love.  She is my standard for beauty, the deep mystery that I will spend my life understanding better.  She is the other half of me, the mother of my son, my beautiful bride.

Thank you, Jesus, for uniting me with Catherine, and for making me more like you through her.  I thank you for giving me four years with her, and beg you to give me a hundred more.
